BELMONT YOUTH BAND The Belmont Youth Band is a continuing free music instruction program, that works with youth of all backgrounds, all musical talents, and all levels. Participating with an organized band, gives children a skill that will carry them throughout their young lives, and beyond to adulthood. Students are provided the instrument of their choice and each class build on basic fundamentals that lead to great futures. Vivian Lamont and Rudy Pendleton, Program Co-Directors organized the youth band at the Belmont Arts and Cultural Center in January 2003. Children participating in the program start from ages 8 - 18 years old. The group performs in various concerts each year at venues such as, The Public Library, The Pensacola Cultural Center for Performing Arts, WEAR Channel 3 Broadcasting, Gulf Coast Arts Festival, and many other community functions. Our program also care for the youth while at classes and at their performances, with transportation and food provided. So anyone can relate, that their donations will be put to very good use. Parents of the Belmont Youth Band, will tell you that our program has helped keep many children out of trouble by giving them something positive to do in the community. Music education is a great opportunity for children socially, and academically. A college education that might be attained through our scholarship program, or our college preparatory program through music that could lead to college. Memberships make it possible for disadvantaged youth to participate in these music programs because of their families economic status. I hope that knowing about the Belmont Youth Band and its Program will compel you to support our Youth Band today!
