Black Music Month Youth Blues Camp And Picnic
I want to thank everyone who was a part of the first annual Black Music Month Youth Blues Heritage Education and Preservation Celebration in Tunica, Mississippi June 29th. I want to send a special thank you to Ms. Peggy Henderson and Ms. Shirley Hall of Family Biz Builders for creating the mission to expose positive opportunities through character and life skills training programs and the vision to develop a growth mindset through economic empowerment as a means to overcome generational poverty.
Jus' Blues Music Foundation mission is to preserve Blues heritage through cultural arts, historical Blues preservation events, recognition of Blues artist who continue to expand the sounds and style of the Blues and Blues Got A Soul education programs to youth and performing artists nationwide and around the world.
The Jus' Blues Music Foundation Joins Family Biz Builders in partnership to continue these Blues programs that connect with young people who live in the Mississippi Delta. The Students who attended the camp this past week left with a little piece of the Blues legacy of the Delta.. Thank you to our presenters, Dr Johnny D. Jones, Sgt First Class Conesh Moore and Allen Johnston.
Thank you to our artist mentors, master harp player, guitarist, singer Yello P' and drummer/guitarist/singer Cam Kimbrough for demonstrating the many different styles of North Mississippi Blues. performances by Tunica musician Derrick Smith, Pastor McKinley Daley, the Saint Luke Youth Choir and Praise Dancers, Tunica youth performer Ashanti Daley, Nala Crumb and Mckenzie Stubbs It was an amazing Black Music Month celebration. Thanks to all the sponsors and supporters who made donations, your support will go a long way.
